CERVICAL SMEAR TAKER COURSES

Enabling participants to prepare women for cervical screening, take cervical smears, interpret cervical smear results, initiate follow up action, and complete documentation in accordance with NZQA Standard 1098.

NB: Supervising trained cervical smeartaker for first 15 smears required.

Course Offers:

Day 1: NCSP history, legislation, population health screening, barriers to screening, cultural competency

Half Day: Smeartaking/sexual health
Half Day: Results, abnormal smears, referrals, colposcopy, laboratory, recalls
Half Day: Well Women's Health Assessment process

Clinical support
3 hours on site in practice - recommended (optional)

Assessment
2 case studies, clinical assessment 2 women
