Scoping and needs assessment for women's health screening and health promotion
"Sisters in Health". A community development project that enables participants to take ownership of health issues. A one day hui / fono is held to facilitate education on barriers to screening and strategies to overcome these barriers, cervical and breast screening education. Regular Sisters' updates and networking throughout the year facilitates ongoing community partnership.
Empowerment models to enable communities to work as independent organisations so they may meet the needs of their community. Utilising Laverack's nine empowerment domains WONS works with the community utilising processes that ensure organisational viability for the future. Capacity of each domain is charted on a regular basis.
