Health promotion for refugee groups can be provided on request from communities. Should interpreters be required WONS will fund a community person to assist with translation during the session.
Cervical and breast screening are foreign health concepts to the majority of refugees. Adult education tools are used which encourages women to participate in a range of women's health issues and share personal experiences. This supports refugee women who may have problems unique to their culture.
