WOMEN'S HEALTH CLINIC

WONS' women's health nurses are able to offer affordable consultations on a range of women's health issues. Their experience allows women to gain a better understanding of their health and the ability to take often simple changes in lifestyle and diet with the occasional addition of alternative remedies to improve well being.

Consultations can cover:

Period management
Premenstrual syndrome
Menopause
Osteoporosis
Bladder control
Cervical smear tests
Breast checks

This service is suitable for teenagers coming to terms with periods to women going through the change of life and coping with menopausal symptoms such as extreme tiredness, sleeplessness and anxiety attacks.

Consultation charges:

Half hour $45
One hour $80

Free cervical smear tests are available for:

Maori women
Pacific women
Women who have a community service card
Women who have not had a cervical smear test in 5 years or over

A donation of $5 is requested to support WONS work. Receipt for tax can be given.

Cervical smears are recommended every three years for women who are 20 to 69 years and have ever been sexually active.

Receipts for insurance are available. Southern Cross does recognise nurse consultations.
